Online Tutor
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
A school in Tameside is looking for online tutors to offer support whilst school closures take place. The school requires tutors across the core subjects. Given current circumstances, this presents itself as the ideal opportunity for teachers/tutors to earn whilst schools remain closed for the time being. It is essential that the tutor will be able to confidently:
- Be able to provide educational material and resources that are relevant in ensuring that students are able to efficiently adapt to a new form of learning process.
- Deliver lessons using an online platform, whilst being able to competently keep students engaged.
- Implement strategies specifically designed to ensure that students are able to maximise their ability, within an unconventional setting.
The requirements for the tutor are as follows:
- A degree (preferably related to the subjects being taught)
- Teachers holding QTS are encouraged to apply, especially if they are not able to work due to school closures.
- Those with previous experience using an online platform within a tutoring capacity are urged to apply.
Given current circumstances, it is imperative that the required tutor will be able to manage expectations with regards to completing work. It is also of high importance that the tutor can set tasks to be completed away from the online platform, to both reinforce learning as well as encourage independent learning.
Further key aspects that the tutor will have to consider are as follows:
- Communicating with the school to relay any issues that may arise within the online learning process, as well as offering feedback to teaching staff/parents as well as the students whenever necessary.
- Managing workloads, and being able to effectively slow the learning process down to ensure that the student has been able to take all information on board.
- Working closely with the individual (s) to ensure that information has been processed, whilst also being able to offer alternatives, particularly to those students.
- Considering the difficulties that students may face when learning online and being able to provide quick solutions to any problems that could be faced.
The tutor will need:
- Access to a laptop, with a microphone/video setting.
Pay - GBP20 - GBP25 per hour.
If you are a tutor/teacher and are looking for work whilst school’s remain closed, please contact the Manchester South Secondary branch at Teaching Personnel.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
