Online Geography Teacher

Job description

A school in Stockport is seeking an Online Geography teacher to work as part of the National Tutoring Programme. Teaching Personnel is working with their partner school with regards to the National Tutoring Programme. As one of the 33 nationally approved suppliers, Teaching Personnel is working to deliver both individual and small group tuition, in response to school closures due to Covid-19.

Applications are welcomed from:

  • Geography Teachers (QTS)
  • Individuals who have tutored Geography previously.
  • Geography Graduates (must have prior teaching/tutoring experience)

The school requires a Geography Teacher to work with students who:

  • Have SEN/EAL needs and require specific 1:1 support.
  • Are predicted at present to be behind the expected rate of progression.
  • Have been disengaged with the subject, and require support in looking to bolster overall engagement.
  • Are from disadvantaged backgrounds (LAC)

The role will involve preparing students for exams, setting engaging tasks that aid student attainment.  There may be some expectation to work with the school teaching staff in order to determine specific areas of improvement for individual students.

Pay is at an hourly rate between GBP18 and GBP25.

It is hoped that this tuition will continue on a face to face basis after the February Half Term. Therefore, applications can only be accepted from individuals who live within close proximity of the Stockport area. We especially welcome applications from Stockport itself (Hazel Grove, Heaton Chapel, Marple, Romiley)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
