Nurture Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel work closely with a provision in the Lancashire area who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to specifically work with a nurture group! 

The role is within a behavioural unit in the Preston area, it caters specifically for KS3 / 4 pupils with SEMH Difficulties, Autism, ADHD, ODD and challenging behaviours. The role is suited to a candidate with a background in supporting pupils with mental health difficulties, one who can empathise with the needs of the students whilst maintaining strong behaviour management skills. 

The role is full time and candidates will be expected to work on a 1:1 or small group basis with pupils who are struggling to engage in education, struggling with their mental health and / or displaying challenging behaviours. 

School hours are 8.35am - 3.15pm Monday - Friday and candidates must be willing to work these full hours in order to be considered. 

Ideally you will come from a background in working with children and / or adults with additional needs and have strong behaviour management skills. Candidates with Psychology or Criminology qualifications will be favoured, as will candidates with their Team Teach qualification. But this is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
