Nurture 1:1 Teaching Assistant – KS2 (ASD Support)
Location: Blackburn
Start Date: Full-time after October Half Term
Hours: Full Time
We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated Nurture 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Blackburn. This is a full-time opportunity starting after the October half-term, supporting a Key Stage 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The successful candidate will work on a 1:1 basis with the child while also being part of the school's SEN Learning Hub, providing a nurturing, structured, and supportive environment where every child can thrive.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with ASD.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship to support the child's academic, social, and emotional development.
- Implement individual learning and behaviour support strategies.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider SEN team.
- Support the pupil within the Learning Hub and during integration into the wider school environment where appropriate.
- Help create a calm, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience working with children with ASD and additional needs.
- Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar role.
- Is patient, compassionate, and resilient.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to promoting positive outcomes for children with additional needs.
- Holds relevant qualifications or experience in education or SEND (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
