About the Role

Primary schools across the NP7 area are seeking caring, proactive, and enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistants to support children in their early years (Nursery/Reception). This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with young children and contributing to their early learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher within Nursery or Reception classes
• Assist children with early phonics, communication, and play‑based learning
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interaction
• Set up and supervise learning activities indoors and outdoors
• Provide 1:1 or small‑group support depending on pupil needs
• Promote positive behaviour and follow safeguarding procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with young children (desirable)
• A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Understanding of the EYFS framework (advantageous but not essential)
• Level 2/3 TA or childcare qualification welcome but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
