Job Title: ALN Teaching Assistant – Specialist Provision (Primary)
Location: NP7 area
Start Date: April 2026
Pay: £92.95 per day
Contract: Full-time, term time only
About the Role:
A primary school in the NP7 area is seeking a committed ALN Teaching Assistant to join its specialist Additional Learning Needs (ALN) provision. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of needs, including developmental, communication, social, emotional and sensory needs. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and wants to make a positive difference within a Welsh school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with ALN.
- Assist in delivering targeted interventions as directed by the ALNCo and teaching staff.
- Contribute to an inclusive learning environment aligned with the Curriculum for Wales.
- Support pupils’ wellbeing, emotional regulation and communication needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, external agencies, and families.
- Help monitor progress and contribute to individual development plans (IDPs) in line with ALN legislation in Wales.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people (ALN experience preferred but not essential).
- Understanding of ALN within the Welsh context is an advantage.
- Positive, patient and resilient approach.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
