Location: NP16 - CHEPSTOW
Contract Type: Full Time / Part Time
Start: ASAP
Pay: Weekly pay

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Sports Teaching Assistant to support pupils within Learning Resource Bases (LRB) and Specialist Resource Bases (SRB) in primary schools across the NP19 area.

We actively recruit sporty, active Teaching Assistants for these roles because they typically bring the energy, resilience and proactive mindset needed to succeed in challenging, fast-paced environments.

Why a Sporty TA?

Sporty TAs often:

  • Thrive in high-energy, structured environments
  • Remain calm and focused under pressure
  • Are confident managing behaviour through movement and routine
  • Take initiative rather than waiting to be directed
  • Build strong relationships through engagement and teamwork

These qualities are essential when supporting pupils in LRB / SRB settings.

The Role

  • Support primary-aged pupils within LRB / SRB provisions
  • Work with pupils who have ALN/SEN, including Autism and ADHD
  • Use movement, physical activity and structured routines to support engagement
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Help pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour
  • Support learning inside and outside the classroom
  • Follow individual support plans and behaviour strategies

The Ideal Candidate

  • Sporty, active or coaching background (sport, fitness, PE, youth work, etc.)
  • Confident working with pupils who may present challenging behaviour
  • Calm, resilient and emotionally intelligent
  • Proactive with a strong “get up and go” attitude
  • Comfortable adapting activities to individual needs
  • Experience in schools, SEN, care or youth work is desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to learn specialist SEN strategies
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

What We Offer

  • Weekly pay
  • Free CPD including behaviour management, SEN and safeguarding
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated Teaching Personnel consultant
  • Opportunities for long-term placements within specialist provisions
  • A genuinely rewarding role where your skills make a visible impact

If you are someone who enjoys being active, stays calm in challenging situations and wants to make a real difference in specialist primary settings, this role could be an excellent fit.
