Teaching Assistant – Specialist Resource Base (SRB)
Location: NP16
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £92.63 per day
Teaching Personnel is recruiting a proactive and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) within a Primary school in the NP16 area from September.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN/SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and sensory needs. You'll work within a highly supportive team, helping pupils access learning, develop independence and thrive in a structured, nurturing environment.
About the Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support within the SRB.
- Adapt learning activities and communication to meet individual pupil needs.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and independence.
- Work alongside teachers, the ALNCo and specialist professionals.
- Implement personalised learning plans and sensory strategies.
- Assist with personal care where required.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who is:
- Patient, caring and passionate about supporting children with ALN/SEN.
- Proactive and able to use their own initiative.
- Calm, resilient and confident supporting pupils with complex needs.
- A strong communicator who builds positive relationships.
- Flexible, reliable and committed to working full-time.
- Willing to learn specialist approaches used within SRB settings.
Previous experience in education, care, youth work or supporting individuals with additional needs is desirable, but not essential. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.

Our Vetting Process
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. Before any educator can begin working through Teaching Personnel, they must successfully complete our comprehensive vetting process. This includes an Enhanced DBS check, Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, safeguarding training, employment references covering the last two years, right to work checks and all mandatory compliance requirements. Candidates who do not complete every stage of the vetting process will not be cleared to work.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
