Nursery Nurses and Teaching Assistants Needed

Job Title: Nursery Nurses and Teaching Assistants

Location: Goole and surrounding areas

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time and Part-Time hours

Primary: EYFS, KS1 and KS2

Salary: £77 - £95 Per day

Job Duties:

As a Nursery Nurse or Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the implementation of educational programmes and activities for children
  • Supporting the lead teacher in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Providing individualised attention and support to children with specific needs
  • Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities
  • Assisting in the preparation of teaching materials and resources
  • Engaging in play-based learning activities and promoting social interaction among children
  • Monitoring and recording children's progress and behaviour
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of children at all times
  • Collaborating with parents and other staff members to support children's development

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • Basic first aid certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and practises
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and individual needs
  • Good organisational and time management skills

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Prior experience working with young children in a nursery or educational setting
  • Sound knowledge of early years curriculum and pedagogical approaches
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in using relevant educational technology and resources
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in an educational environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Specialist training in areas such as special educational needs or behaviour management
  • Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds
  • Additional certifications in areas such as Makaton or Forest School

Working Conditions:

You will primarily work within a nursery or educational setting, interacting with children, parents, and other staff members. The role may involve some physical activity, including bending, stooping, and lifting. You may also be required to attend meetings or training sessions outside of regular working hours.

As a contract worker, you will be expected to work full-time hours and adhere to the policies and procedures of the setting you are assigned to. The salary range for this position is £77 - £95 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
