Bank Staff – Nursery / EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location: Huntingdon & surrounding areas
Positions: Flexible Bank Staff (Day-to-Day, Long-Term, Temp-to-Perm)
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £95–£120 per day
We are seeking enthusiastic and caring Bank Nursery / EYFS Assistants to support our partner primary schools in and around Huntingdon. This flexible role is perfect for those looking to balance work around other commitments, with opportunities ranging from daily supply to long-term placements and potential temp-to-perm roles.
About the Role
As a Bank Nursery / EYFS Assistant, you will:
- Support the class teacher in creating a warm, engaging, and stimulating early years environment.
- Set up and tidy away resources and equipment at the start and end of the day.
- Supervise pupils during break and lunch times, ensuring a happy and safe playtime.
- Promote learning through play by observing, interacting, and supporting children’s development.
- Work with small groups or individual pupils to build early communication, reading, writing, and Maths skills.
- Encourage the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of all children.
- Attend staff or year-group meetings when required.
- Access ongoing training and CPD to enhance your professional skills.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Flexibility to work in day-to-day or long-term positions.
- A passion for supporting young learners.
- Previous experience within a primary or early years setting, or a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.
- A commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
All staff must undertake a full interview process, provide suitable references, and hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
