Nursery Assistant

Job Title: Nursery Assistant (Full-Time or Part-Time, Temporary)
Location: York
Pay: £90–£120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Temporary, with full-time and part-time options available

About the Role:
We’re looking for a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join a welcoming early years team in York. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s passionate about supporting children’s development and creating a fun, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and inspired to learn.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the daily running of the nursery and support the room leaders.

• Help plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning activities for children aged 0–5 years.

• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating space that encourages curiosity and confidence.

• Support children’s emotional, social, and physical development through positive interaction.

• Work closely with colleagues and parents to ensure the best outcomes for every child.

• Maintain cleanliness and follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures.

About You:

• You’re passionate about working with children and helping them grow.

• Previous nursery or childcare experience is preferred but not essential.

• A kind, patient, and enthusiastic approach.

• A good communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.

• A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

• Level 2 or 3 in Childcare is desirable, but not required for the right person.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
