Newly Qualified Teachers

Job description

Are you a newly qualified teacher wondering how you will secure a position in the new academic year? If so, please read on to find out how Teaching Personnel can help you!

Introducing our NQT Pool…

We have taken an old idea and made it work for schools across the country during these extraordinary times. Every local authority used to run an NQT Pool, where qualifying trainees applied once to be considered by all the schools in the LEA.

Teaching Personnel’s pool works on the same principles, but with a national focus on both recruiting NQTs and working with schools; with greater resources and expertise devoted to vetting, assessing and pre-screening candidates; and the delivery of extra training resources to help candidates who have had their final year of training cut short by the school closures.

How does this work?

Once registered, your consultant will vet and pre-screen you to build up an in-depth profile of your skills and abilities, and discuss job options with you. We then take the profile we have built up (including a short video introduction) and speak to schools looking to recruit NQTs to find the perfect match between school and teacher. The school then interviews the candidates (online where necessary) and has the option to make a permanent placement or offer a temporary placement for September to assess if the fit is right.

Benefits

  • Gives you a simple and quick route to find potential employers during the period of school closures
  • Cuts down on the risk of you immediately exiting the teaching pool after graduating
  • Additional training materials to support NQTs whose training has been cut short by the coronavirus outbreak. You will receive free access to six online support packs provided by our sister company Best Practice Network. Each pack contains six hours of content aligned to both the Teacher Standards and Early Career Framework and are designed to support the practice of Teachers.
