What is the Teaching Personnel NQT Pool?
Our NQT Pool takes an old idea and makes it work for schools across the country during these extraordinary times. Every local authority used to run an NQT pool, where qualifying trainees applied once to be considered by all the schools in the LEA.
Teaching Personnel’s pool works on the same principles, but with the following differences
- a national focus on both recruiting NQTs and working with schools
- greater resources and expertise devoted to vetting, assessing and pre-screening candidates
- the delivery of extra CPD and resources to support candidates who have had their final year of training cut short by the school closures
We have reached out extensively to trainees and ITT providers, to help plug the gap caused by the school closures, that has left many of you as Final Year Students wondering how you will find a role for September.
Once registered our experienced and knowledgeable consultants vet and pre-screen , building up a profile of your skills and abilities, and discuss job options.
The profile we have built up (including a short video introduction) we will be able to forward on to schools looking to recruit NQTs to find the perfect match between school and teacher.
The Teaching Personnel NQT Pool offers real benefits for both the school and the NQT:
- Gives NQTs a simple and quick route to find potential employers during the period of school closures
- Additional CPD materials will support NQTs whose training has been cut short by the coronavirus outbreak
- Allows you to gain experience and build skills and confidence
- Gives you more of a chance of securing a permanent role
Additional Support Available
The members of the Teaching Personnel NQT Pool will receive free access to six online support packs provided by our sister company Best Practice Network.
Each pack contains six hours of content aligned to both the Teacher Standards and Early Career Framework and are designed to support the practice of Teachers.
- Pedagogy and Practice
- Assessment
- Behaviour
- Special Educational Needs
- Professional Behaviour
- Curriculum
