Music Teacher

Full time

Start: September 2024

Pay: To upper PayScale 

Location: Welwyn Garden City

We are looking to speak with Music teachers, who are either experienced in delivering Music based curriculum and looking to take the next step in their career, or newly qualified Music teachers who are looking to begin their ECT.

A modern, forward-thinking Secondary School with an excellent reputation in the Welwyn Garden City area is seeking a Music Teacher to join their team for the new academic year.

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging music lessons to inspire pupils
  • Utilise excellent behaviour management techniques
  • Adapt lessons to suit varying learning styles and needs within each class
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the music department
  • Demonstrate a great knowledge and insight into the secondary music curriculum

Required Qualifications:

  • Hold a QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or PGCE (Postgraduate certificate in Education) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Degree in Music
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on update service

Experience:

Previous experience and proven track record teaching music in a secondary school

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent behaviour management techniques
  • Ability to adapt lessons to suit varying learning styles and needs within each class
  • Great knowledge and insight into the secondary music curriculum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in music education
  • Experience in organising and leading music events or performances

Working Conditions:

  • Expected to work Full-Time hours
  • Collaborative environment with colleagues in the music department

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
