Salary: £40,266 - £61,592 (Inner London MPS/UPS)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if available)

Are you a passionate and creative Music Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of musicians? Our client, a dynamic and inclusive secondary academy based in Mitcham, South London, is seeking a talented and dedicated Music Teacher to join their thriving Performing Arts department. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your teaching career in a supportive environment that values the arts and student creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable)

  • Foster a love of music through practical, theoretical, and performance-based learning

  • Organise and lead extracurricular music opportunities, including ensembles, choirs, and school productions

  • Use assessment effectively to support pupil progress and celebrate musical achievement

  • Contribute to a positive and ambitious department culture that promotes high standards and inclusivity

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Music in a secondary setting

  • Strong subject knowledge across a broad music curriculum, including composition, performance, and theory

  • A commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations for all pupils

  • The ability to inspire creativity, confidence, and a love for learning
