Teaching Personnel are the Nation’s leading education agency and work with a number of specialist provisions in the UK. We are currently supporting recruitment for an SEMH School in Tameside (M34) who are looking for Teaching Assistants to support students who are coping with Mental Health issues and meet social and emotional challenges, meaning that they do not currently access mainstream education.
The school are looking for Teaching Assistants who can provide support within class or intervention sessions, who is resilient and understanding of challenging behaviour but can provide a supportive and nurturing environment regardless.
You should ideally have worked in a child workforce based environment, with experience in mental health or special needs and have at least a basic working knowledge of core subject areas such as Maths, English and Science. You must be qualified at grade A-C GCSE in these subjects.
In your role you will support KS2 and KS3 age students with diagnosed or suspected mental health issues, social and emotional needs and sometimes associated learning difficulties. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can build rapport with students and help them to build their confidence in themselves and their abilities to achieve. Patience, Understanding and Enthusiasm is needed by the bucket load!
The school located in Tameside (M34) and continues to meet safeguarding priorities which is essential to be upheld by any new member of staff lucky enough to join the team! The staff aim to create a positive environment where all involved feel comfortable, happy and supported.
