Job description

Maths Tutor – NG19 Area

Location: Mansfield (NG19) and surrounding areas
Hours: School hours, Monday–Friday
Flexible / Part-Time / Term-Time
Competitive hourly pay rates

We are currently recruiting experienced and motivated Maths Tutors to provide 1:1 support to pupils in home or school settings across the NG19 area.

This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people who may require additional help with Maths due to gaps in learning, low confidence, SEN/SEND needs, school avoidance, or other barriers to education. You will deliver personalised tuition sessions tailored to each pupil’s individual ability and learning style.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and tailored 1:1 Maths tuition sessions
  • Support pupils in improving confidence, understanding, and attainment in Maths
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual learning needs
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and schools
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate session records
  • Create a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 years teaching or tutoring experience within the UK
  • Strong knowledge of Maths curriculum
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Patient, reliable, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Driving licence and access to transport preferred

Desirable Experience

  • SEN/SEND experience
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, or anxiety
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or tutoring background

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
