Required ASAP for an immediate start, a large secondary faith school close to Manchester are looking for a Maths teaching assistant to join their team of support staff on a full time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant with a Maths background, or a Maths graduate looking for school based work prior to teacher training or further studies.

As a Maths teaching assistant, your role will be to provide high levels of support to both class teachers and children, some of whom will be struggling to progress at the same pace as their peers and understand lesson outcomes and objectives. Previous experience as a teaching assistant is desirable; you'll need to have an understanding of safeguarding and the procedures working within a school environment. The school is a large mixed secondary, situated north of the city centre and serving a multi cultural catchment area with higher than average levels of FSM (children eligible for free school meals). The Deputy Head wants to hire a Maths teaching assistant through supply ASAP, any interested applicants are urged to submit a CV or covering letter straight away for consideration.

  • On going supply role for a minimum of 4 months
  • Supportive environment, IDEAL for aspiring teachers
  • Earn up to £60 per day (previous experience dependant)
  • Good transport links to the city centre and surrounding areas
  • Previous experience as a TA or tutor is desired

Required to start as soon as possible, this is a full time position which could be for the remainder of this academic year. Working as a Maths teaching assistant will be a challenging but rewarding position, you'll support children in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, devise activities and lesson plans and monitor the progress made under your guidance.
