Do you want to join a Maths Department in a flagship school, where a love of Maths is nurtured and where Progress & Attainment continue to rise? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a teacher of Maths at this ”Outstanding” School.
The Maths department at this school is an exciting place to be! It is staffed by dedicated, teachers committed to raising standards by inspiring students towards even greater progress in Maths. The “can do” attitude of staff is exemplary. This has contributed massively towards ensuring that the schools Progress 8 data places it in the top 13% & 14% of schools nationally in 2018 & 2019. The department’s continuous search for improvement saw a rise of +14% in Level 2 passes in 2019 respectively with further increases at both Grade 4+ and Grade 5+. The positive progress scores achieved in Maths make a significant contribution to our “above average” whole school progress.
Maths A Level is extremely popular with student numbers growing year on year.
Maths teachers are open to innovation and change and this is obvious in their commitment to students and where opportunities have arisen, TLR awards have been made within the department. The school work closely with the Sussex Maths Hub and the department has been involved in the NCETM Reasoning in Mathematics Project.
Students are taught in ability set groups from Year 7 through to Year 11. Key Stage 4 students follow the AQA (9-1) GCSE course.
