Due to a staffing restructure this September coming, our client secondary school in Bournemouth are currently looking for a full time Maths teacher, with the view of being offered a permanent position if successful in the first term.

Due to the possibility of a permanent contract, the incoming Maths Teacher will take on full departmental responsibilities of a permanent member of staff, including parent’s evenings as well as planning and marking.

It will also be important to set appropriate homework and classwork tasks and to mark these in line with the schools guidelines. The successful candidate will also be required to monitor and assess pupil’s progress and report this back to discuss with other members of the Maths department.

Start date: September 4th 2023.

Requirements for this role:

  • Mathematics PGCE with QTS
  • Relevant degree
  • Be able to teach the maths curriculum up to GCSE
  • Behaviour and classroom management skills
  • Forward-thinking and able to work with other Teachers and Teaching Assistants in putting the students first
  • Has a valid child only DBS on the update service or willing to obtain

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide engaging and productive lessons
  • Highly motivated and driven by the desire to deliver outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrating a passion for education
  • Inspiring learning with creative lesson plans and delivery
  • Preparing and planning for lessons with marking required 

Details of the role:

  • Full time role Monday-Friday
  • Working with students aged 11-16 years
  • Competitive and fair rates of pay
  • Weekly pay via PAYE

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
