Maths Teacher Bury

Full time Maths Teacher required from September 2019 for 12 month temporary position for a Bury based Secondary school.

Our client Secondary school are looking to appoint a Maths teacher for the new academic year. Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large mixed comprehensive secondary school in the Bury area to support with the recruitment of a full-time temporary Mathematics teacher.

  • Full-time Maths Teacher required from September 2019.
  • 12 month temporary position
  • Opportunity for valuable experience in a challenging school and working with behavioural difficulties
  • Teaching a full timetable, across Key Stage Three and GCSE
  • Experience with challenging behaviour is desirable
  • Applications are urged from both experienced Maths teachers and Newly Qualified Teachers
  • Access to strong behaviour management support to aid understanding of challenging behaviour
  • Pay in line with scale point NQT-UPS (£23720-£39400)

Our client school has been noted for their welcoming staff community and culture over the last few years with strong support to provide staff with the most efficient teaching methods. The incoming Maths teacher can expect to work with some challenging behaviour alongside pupils in need of extra support to increase their attainment.

The successful Maths teacher will be expected to;

  • Support with the development of Schemes of Work in line with the National Curriculum for Maths.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated maths lessons to meet the needs of individual learners at various levels of learning.
  • Guide pupils with challenging behaviour and implement strategies to help manage this behaviour
  • Assess and evaluate class work reporting back to Senior Teachers in order to take appropriate action to support pupils in meeting their aims and objectives.
  • Promote positive behaviour management skills amongst pupils and manage behaviour in line with school behaviour policies.

Located in the area of Bury, this mixed comprehensive school has over 500 pupils on roll, aged 11-16. The school is easily accessible via the M66/A58 and the surrounding areas; Bolton, Trafford and Salford. For non-drivers, there are also various public transport options available with links across Greater Manchester.
