Tameside based secondary school are looking to appoint a Maths teacher for January 2019 for an upcoming staff departure due to relocation. This secondary school are willing to take on an experienced Maths teacher or those Newly Qualified in Mathematics as the academic performance of their students is highly regarded in their ethos.

This is a full time Maths teaching post where you will be expected to plan and organise your own work. The maths department is a thriving environment to learn and has been established within the community. For 2016/2017 they had a just below average Progress 8 score so you will need to have a proven track record but will still be provided the help of the fantastic maths teachers who will be working in the same department . In 2017 more than 56% of students received grade 4 or above, highlighting a key strength.

The school is located in the SK14 post code of Tameside with great railway links and just off the motorway for those who drive. This is initially on a temporary basis from January until July through Teaching Personnel with the option of a school based contract following this. This mixed traditional 11-16 comprehensive with above average number of Pupil premium and EAL students.

Essential criteria for this Maths position;

  • Qualified teacher status in the UK and experience teaching in a UK secondary school
  • Suitable teaching references
  • Eligibility for a fully enhanced DBS certificate
