Maths Teacher

Location: Preston

Contract: Full‑time

Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner)

Salary: From £170 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and motivated Maths Teacher to join a successful and forward‑thinking Mathematics Department. This position presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ambitious Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to begin or progress their career within a highly supportive environment.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons that inspire students, foster a genuine love of mathematics, and drive strong academic progress across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to teach A‑Level Maths would be advantageous but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

-          Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons across KS3–KS4

-          Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing timely and constructive feedback

-          Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

-          Maintain high expectations for behaviour and uphold strong classroom management

-          Participate in departmental meetings, CPD opportunities, and whole‑school initiatives

-          Support the academic, social, and personal development of all learners

-          Rated Good by Ofsted (most recent full inspection May 2022), with strengths in leadership, behaviour, and quality of education

-          Strong, values‑led ethos rooted in Christian principles, promoting ambition, kindness, respect, and positive relationships

-          Well‑structured and ambitious curriculum across KS3, KS4, and Sixth Form, with strong subject knowledge across departments

-          Historically recognised for specialism in Mathematics and Computing, supporting strong outcomes in STEM subjects

-          Supportive and stable leadership team with a clear focus on staff development and wellbeing

-          Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

-          Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

-          Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Maths

-          High expectations and a commitment to raising student attainment

-          Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students and colleagues

-          A reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
