Experienced Maths Teacher

Location: Preston, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS (Dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Maths Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Preston from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to inspiring students and delivering high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated maths lessons that challenge and motivate all learners
  • Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the Maths department
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support students in achieving their full academic potential
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and wider school life

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject
  • Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for education
  • Excellent classroom management skills
  • A commitment to continuous professional development
  • The ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
