Job Title: Maths Teacher (SEN School)
Location: Chorley Area
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)


About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join a supportive and well-established specialist school in the Chorley area. This provision caters to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including moderate to complex learning difficulties, autism, and associated needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people by delivering engaging and accessible mathematics teaching tailored to individual learning needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated maths lessons to meet the diverse needs of learners with SEN
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with cognitive, communication, and emotional needs
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans (ILPs) in collaboration with wider staff
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral teams
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and independence skills alongside academic development

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Maths at KS3/KS4 (SEN experience highly desirable but not essential)
  • A strong understanding of adaptive teaching and differentiation
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient with a genuine passion for working in SEN
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
