SEN Teacher – Primary School
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Colne
Contract: Full-time (term time)
Salary: Dependent on experience (MPS/UPS + SEN allowance where applicable)
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Colne is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate professional who is committed to supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and personally.
The Role
You will:
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to maximise outcomes
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCO, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to learning
- Create a nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Proven experience working with pupils with SEN, ideally within a primary school setting
- Strong understanding of SEND provision and inclusive teaching practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
