Pendle Area, Lancashire
Maternity Cover Positions
Start Date: ASAP

A specialist SEN school in the Pendle area of Lancashire is seeking to appoint two dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teachers to join their team on maternity cover contracts. Opportunities are available within both the primary and secondary provisions.

The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs and provides a highly supportive environment focused on individual development, engagement and positive outcomes. Specific class information, pupil needs and curriculum plans will be discussed at shortlisting stage.

These positions are ideal for teachers who are passionate about inclusive education and committed to supporting children and young people with additional needs to reach their full potential.

The Role:

  • Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs
  • Supporting students with a range of SEN within a specialist provision
  • Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment
  • Working closely with support staff, therapists and wider school professionals
  • Monitoring progress and adapting teaching approaches accordingly
  • Promoting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEN in either specialist or mainstream settings
  • Be adaptable, patient and nurturing in their approach
  • Have strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Be committed to inclusive teaching and personalised learning
  • Be confident working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

Previous SEN experience is desirable; however, applications are welcomed from teachers with relevant mainstream experience and a strong interest in specialist provision.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
