Mathematics Teacher – Secondary School

Location: Dorchester
Start Date: September
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (with the potential for a permanent position)
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Dorchester seeking a committed Mathematics Teacher to join their team from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about helping students build confidence in mathematics and achieve their full potential. The school offers a supportive working environment where both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to develop and thrive.

The Role

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.

  • Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support attainment.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the success of the Maths department.

  • Promote high standards of behaviour, effort and academic achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Have experience teaching Mathematics within a secondary school setting.

  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills.

  • Be committed to raising student attainment through engaging and inspiring lessons.

  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.

  • Be proactive, organised and committed to continuous professional development.
