Position: Year 2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan
Employment Type: Full-time
Daily Rate: £83.85
Start Date: Sept 24 - July 25
Job Description:
As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the classroom teacher and enhancing the educational experience of pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the classroom teacher with lesson planning and preparation.
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students who need additional help.
- Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Supporting students with their social and emotional development.
- Supervising students during break times and other activities.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as grading and record-keeping.
- Participating in school events and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a English and Maths GCSE C level, relevant certifications or a degree in education or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children, particularly in an educational setting, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of child development and educational practices.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment.

Vetting:
In order to work within schools across Wales you will need the following documentation: your personal consultant will assist you in obtaining them all.
- Enhanced Child Only DBS
- EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration
- Right to work in the UK
- References covering a minimum of 24 months
