Position: Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Daily Rate: £83.85

Job Description:

As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the classroom teacher and enhancing the educational experience of pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the classroom teacher with lesson planning and preparation.
• Providing one-on-one and small group support to students who need additional help.
• Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Supporting students with their social and emotional development.
• Supervising students during break times and other activities.
• Assisting with administrative tasks such as grading and record-keeping.
• Participating in school events and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a English and Maths GCSE C level, relevant certifications or a degree in education or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience working with young children, particularly in an educational setting, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of child development and educational practices.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment.

In order to work within schools across Wales you will need the following documentation: your personal consultant will assist you in obtaining them all.

-          Enhanced Child Only DBS

-          EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration

-          Right to work in the UK

-          References covering a minimum of 24 months
