Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Nursery & Primary
Location: Llanelli and surrounding areas
Full-time | Part-time | Long-term Opportunities

Help shape the first steps of a child’s learning journey.

We are seeking dedicated and nurturing Level 3 Teaching Assistants to support Nursery and Primary schools across the Llanelli area. This role is perfect for someone who understands the importance of early learning, emotional development, and creating a positive foundation for every child to succeed. Willingess to travel a minimum of 30 minutes for work is essential. 

Our partner schools are welcoming, community-focused environments where Teaching Assistants are trusted, valued, and given real responsibility within the classroom.

About the Role

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children aged 3–11, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your duties may include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning in Nursery, Foundation Phase, Key Stage 1 & 2
  • Delivering phonics, early literacy, and numeracy interventions
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
  • Supporting children’s speech, language, and social development
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Assisting with classroom preparation, resources, and daily routines
  • Supporting play-based and child-led learning in early years settings
  • Working closely with teachers to monitor progress and pupil wellbeing

Requirements

To be considered, you should have:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification
  • Experience working with Nursery or Primary-aged children
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience supporting children with ALN/SEN (desirable)
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (or willingness to register)
  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Welsh language skills are highly desirable but not essential.
