level 3 Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 class within a reputable primary school in Fulwood.
This is a highly rewarding role, ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils during this critical stage of their learning. Year 4 marks the move from basic skills to more complex, independent learning. A key national requirement for this year-group is the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) where children must demonstrate fluent recall of times tables up to 12×12. Your role will be imperative in supporting pupils to master these skills is essential to ensure they are fully prepared for more advanced mathematics.
We are looking for a positive and proactive individual who approaches teaching and learning with a supportive attitude and can help pupils feel confident, engaged, and motivated to succeed.
Role Details:
- Start Date: September 2026 (OR ASAP)
- Contract: 12-month fixed term with the potential of a permanent role
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (term time only)
- Pay Rate: From £14.75 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting small groups of pupils across KS2 to close gaps in learning
- Delivering targeted interventions, particularly in times tables and core maths skills
- Supporting pupils’ confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
Requirements:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
- Previous experience working within a primary school setting, ideally KS2
- Experience supporting pupils with numeracy and core skills is highly desirable
- A proactive, positive, and nurturing approach to supporting pupils
