Job description

Support, Empower, Transform – Make a Real Impact in SEN Education
Teaching Personnel is working with several inclusive and well-resourced schools in Brent to appoint a qualified and experienced Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone with a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs and a proven background in working within SEN settings.

You’ll be working one-to-one and in small groups, supporting pupils with a range of needs including autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, ADHD, and SEMH. Experience in complex needs and communication support is highly valued.

The Role:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with EHCPs, working alongside teachers and SENCOs

  • Use communication systems such as PECS, Makaton, or visual schedules to support understanding and reduce anxiety

  • Promote pupil independence, positive behaviour, and emotional regulation

  • Contribute to behaviour plans and personalised learning interventions

About You:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent (CACHE, NCFE, or similar)

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (school, care or SEN settings)

  • Skilled in using SEN strategies and confident managing behaviour positively

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
