Level 2 Teaching Assistant

The provision
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with the headteacher of a Secondary specialist provision for children ages 11-16. The school carters for children with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.

  • May 2024 start (Must be available for trials)
  • Burnley
  • £12.90p/hour
  • KS4 class
  • Monday – Friday (8:30 – 3:30pm)

The role
As a SEMH teaching Assistant your role will be to support the children/child as instructed to by the class teacher. The successful candidate will implement learning support plans that have been put into place and produce meaningful activities. You will adapt the support given according to the needs of the children. The role may involve working outside with groups of children to engage them in educational experiences. You will adopt a caring, nurturing approach to build trust and create a positive atmosphere for the children to learn and grow. You will ensure that the children can integrate as fully as possible in activities carried out by other class members and to make positive progress. It is important for the candidate to have the ability to successful communicate; written and verbal to enable the class teacher to assess the progress of the children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
