Level 2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Accrington
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £12.50 – £13.25 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
I am working closely with a Secondary Alternative Provision in Accrington to recruit a committed and confident Level 2 Teaching Assistant for an immediate start.
This is a full-time role supporting students across the provision both in class and on a 1:1 basis. The young people in this setting can display challenging behaviours and may have a history of disengagement from mainstream education. The successful candidate must be confident in their approach and passionate about breaking down barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups

Assist the class teacher in managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment

Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils
-
Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
-
Contribute to the wider pastoral care of students
Requirements:
-
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
-
Experience supporting children or young people, ideally in an SEN or alternative provision setting
-
Confidence in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
-
A calm, resilient, and flexible approach
-
Strong teamworking and communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
