£24 - £27 Per hour PAYE

The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Functional Skills English lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with SEN at Entry level.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Create a supportive and nurturing learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members and professionals to support the development of students.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and behaviour.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Track and monitor students EHCP targets over time and support and monitor the tracking of the targets.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) or equivalent
  • Level 4 + in either Subject Specific Specialism (Literacy/numeracy/ language)
  • or Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) L5 – L7
  • The college will accept a commitment to working towards the above:

        L3 or equivalent in specialist skills area e.g.

        -English

        -Maths

        -ESOL

 

Experience:

Substantial experience of supporting learning, mentoring or tutorial role

Experience of teaching one or more of the following – Life skills, work skills, entry level maths and English.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Specific and global Learning Difficulties
  • Able to differentiate teaching
  • Ability to work with a range of students on courses from entry level to Level 2.
  • Able to provide 1:1 and group teaching Good administration and organisational skills
  • Highly developed, effective interpersonal skills

Working Conditions/Special Circumstances:

  • 14 Hours Per week
  • Duration of Contract: 7 weeks 
  • Prepared to work at least one evening per week if required.
  • Prepared to work weekends if required. Must be prepared to undergo training.
  • Prepared to work to programme needs in a variety of subjects.
  • Able to travel independently and work in the community if required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
