An Alternative Provision in Crawley are looking for a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to assist in supporting their staff and special needs pupils with severe and complex needs. This includes learning difficulties, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with special needs. The TA will need to be resilient due to the needs of specific students and the behaviour dsiplayed. There are some non-verbal pupils in attendance, so a qualification or experience in Makaton or PEC's will be beneficial. The Teaching Assistant will also:
- Be able to multitask and have the flexibility to help in a variety of situations.
- Be happy to work in small groups and on a one to one basis.
A typical school day will start at 08:30 and finish at 15:30. The staff are friendly and supportive, and the school has been rated 'Good' in their latest Ofsted report! The TA will need to get involved with the pupils right from the start, and demonstrate an effective approach. Those who are interested will be welcome to spend a trial day at the school, upon undergoing a vetting process.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
