Learning Support in Yate

Teaching Personnel is working closely with an SEN department in a mainstream secondary school in Yate and it is looking for an LSA/ Personal Assistant to work with a student with Complex Needs on a full-time basis from September.

Complex Needs simply means more than one type of Special Educational Need or Disability. In this instance the pupil needs support academically and physically as mobility is an issue. Speech and Language plays a huge part in this role so anyone who has SLCN experience would be at an advantage. You will be given full training but you will need to administer medication too.

This is a very popular school based in Yate near the town centre. You will begin the day in the SEN room where the pupil will be met by Physiotherapists. You will then be child in lessons which is not separate from the mainstream school where you will support academically and be a scribe as the student finds it challenging to write.

You MUST have SEN experience and you MUST be committed to this role for at least two terms. Ideally you will have SLCN experience and you MUST have good grammar, spelling and your handwriting must be legible. The scribe element to this role is integral.
