Job Title: Learning Support Classroom Assistant (SEND)
Location: Macclesfield and Congleton area, Cheshire
Start Date: Immediate and September 2025 Start Dates Available
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only, Flexible Working
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you want to make a real difference in the classroom while gaining valuable experience in a rewarding role? We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join schools in the Macclesfield and Congleton areas, with opportunities to start immediately or in September 2025.

About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide tailored support that enables each child to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEND

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of targeted learning activities

  • Support classroom routines and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Help manage behaviour and encourage independence and confidence in learners

  • Monitor student progress and communicate feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in a school or care setting preferred)

  • A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to individual learning needs

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and pupil wellbeing

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
