KS3 Support Assistant || Cornwall

Are you currently looking to start your career in education but don’t have the relevant experience or qualifications?

Teaching Personnel is currently offering the opportunity for the right candidate to become a learning support assistant in an 11-18 secondary school to work with KS3 pupils within lessons and as part of interventions.

We at Teaching Personnel offer a personalised tutoring service to help schools increase pupil attainment. We call these our intervention programmes and each of these has been designed to help pupils reach their full potential. As a learning support assistant, you will be working with small groups providing help and support to children who have behavioural difficulties. This may include Autism, ADHD, SEMH and behaviour. 

This will be a full-time role starting after February half-term until Easter initially but will be extended until the Summer for the right candidate. The School is based in the West-Side of Newcastle upon Tyne and is easily accessible by public transport or by main. 

Main responsibilities include:

  • Working alongside staff/classroom teachers and SM to reduce levels of unauthorised absence and improve levels of attendance and behaviour
  • Motivating students with behavioural difficulties
  • Undertaking structured and agreed Individualised education programmes, including small group work
  • Providing teacher’s with feedback on the children’s development
