Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Specialist School | Totton

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting full-time Learning Support Assistants to join a warm, welcoming and highly supportive specialist school in Totton, with opportunities available across both the primary and secondary sites.

This specialist setting supports children and young people aged 2–19 with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties. Many pupils also have additional needs including Autism, Down Syndrome, SEMH needs and physical disabilities.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
  • Help students access learning in ways tailored to their individual needs
  • Encourage confidence, communication and independence
  • Work closely with experienced teachers, therapists and support staff
  • Build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils
  • Create a safe, engaging and supportive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from individuals who are:

  • Experienced in SEN and/or SEMH support
  • From a background in education, care, youth work or support work
  • Positive, resilient and nurturing in their approach
  • Reliable and committed to full-time work
  • Passionate about making a long-term difference in young people’s lives

The Details

Totton
Full-time | Monday–Friday
£14.25 per hour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
