Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Specialist School - Totton

Looking for a rewarding role where you can genuinely make a difference every single day?

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for full-time Learning Support Assistants to join a welcoming and highly supportive specialist school in Totton, with opportunities available across both the primary and secondary sites.

The school provides education for children and young people aged 2–19 years with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties. Many pupils also have additional needs including Autism, Down Syndrome, SEMH needs and physical disabilities.

This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for compassionate, patient and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Helping students access learning in a way that suits their individual needs
  • Encouraging communication, confidence and independence
  • Working closely with experienced teachers and support staff
  • Creating positive relationships that have a real impact on young people’s lives

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous SEN or SEMH experience is essential
  • Experience in schools, care, youth work or support work is highly desirable
  • A positive, resilient and nurturing attitude
  • Someone reliable and committed to working full time
  • Individuals who want to build a meaningful career supporting young people

Full-time, Monday–Friday
£14.25 per hour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
