Learning Support Assistant – Waterlooville
Start Date: ASAP | Secondary School | Term‑Time Only

A welcoming and forward‑thinking Secondary School in Waterlooville is seeking two dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their expanding team!

About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key part in ensuring every student has the tools and confidence to succeed. You will support young people who may have learning difficulties, disabilities, or language barriers, helping them access the curriculum and overcome obstacles to learning.
Working closely with teachers, parents, and SEND specialists, you will:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small‑group support
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans/Behaviour Support Plans
- Encourage positive relationships, engagement, and participation
- Help create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment
- Support classroom management and student wellbeing
The school has strong, structured provision for students with SEND, including needs such as ASD and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), giving you fantastic experience for future roles in education, psychology, or social care.
Who We’re Looking For
You will be a great fit if you have:
- Experience supporting young people (ideally in a school environment)
- A natural ability to build rapport with students
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive, proactive approach
- Understanding of classroom roles and SEND support
- Knowledge of child development and how young people learn
- The ability to reflect, adapt, and use your initiative
