Learning Support Assistant

  • Secondary ASD provision
  • North Bristol based Secondary School
  • Full time- Easter 2021 start
  • GBP60-GBP70 per day
  • Working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis

Teaching Personnel are looking for a candidate to join our partnership School based in North Bristol. Is this you? If so, we have the position for you! A Secondary special needs ASD provision in North Bristol are looking for just that this Easter. Teaching Personnel have been working closely with this ASD provision and are happy to help the provision recruit for the right candidate. There is such an importance to find the right candidate for the role to ensure the pupils are supported in the right way.

This unit is built around supporting the needs of children with high and low functioning autism. The school is currently looking for an LSA to assist the teacher within the classroom. They need someone to build strong relationships with the students and colleagues, bring new ideas to the table and to track the progress of the children within the class Facilities and resources are purely built around the needs of these well deserving children, who would not otherwise have such an opportunity to strive, learn and grow. 

About The Role

  • The class will consist of a small group with the successful candidate as the class Teacher with 3 Learning Support Assistants (LSA) present at all times.
  • Due on the complexity of the needs of the students, they would not typically work alongside the national curriculum. There is a focus on personal physical, emotional and social development.

Candidate specification

  • The School are seeking a committed individual that has previous experience working with children with Autism. A candidate who can be receptive and who can adapt to different situations.
  • The School would ideal like a candidate who presents themselves as an outgoing and caring individual to cater for the pupils needs within the provision.
  • Having a committed candidate who is seeking a full time role and looking to gain valuable experience whilst supporting pupils in the provision.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
