Have you had experience of supporting children with additional needs, could you support children on a 1:1 basis? Are you looking to gain experience in a Secondary school setting? We have an exciting new opportunity at our client school in South Shields.
Position: Learning Support Assistant
Pay: (£80 - £110 per day)
Contract: Full-Time
Start Date: January 2024
Our client Secondary school is located within South Shields with access from surrounding areas via the A194, A1018 and A1300. For candidates who do not drive, there are many public transport links from the surrounding areas of The North East.
As part of safer recruitment guidelines all applicants would be subject to standard vetting checks including the obtainment of:
- Two most previous employment references
- Registering a Child Workforce DBS on the update service. (We can assist you with this application during registration).
- Applicants who have lived outside of the UK for 6 months or more in the last 5 years will be required to present an overseas criminal check (Police check).
Job Brief
- Supporting students of KS3 and KS4 to a range of abilities and SEMH needs.
- Ideal experience to support a PGCE application.
- A variety of work in classroom, 1:1 or small nurture group work settings.
- Any specific experience supporting young people with additional learning needs or SEN previously is desirable.
- Follow Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) that have been designed the best meet the needs of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
