Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a committed Learning Support Assistant for a special needs school located in Salisbury. The school caters for children and young people with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning and communication difficulties.

The post will be to:

  • Provide support and encourage students with complex disabilities to engage in day to day school activities.
  • Carry out clinical interventions when required and implement care plans as the responsible member of staff within the classroom.
  • Ensure communication with students, staff, nurses and physiotherapists is effective
  • To support access to the curriculum and social activities

The school, based in Salisbury is located in beautiful grounds. It caters for students aged between 11 and 16. As the successful candidate you will have access to fantastic facilities including high quality teaching, social care and health care facilities, regular dedicated CPD, support from experienced staff and above all job satisfaction. Parking is available on site. Ofsted has stated " New staff are supported well through a robust induction process which covers all aspects of school life, including safeguarding."

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who have the expertise to support children and young people in the classroom. To carry out this SEN Support Assistant role effectively, you will:

  • Ideally have experience working in a complex physical and medical needs environment
  • Have GCSE's in English and Maths or equivalent
  • A Level 3 in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools is desirable

This role could become permanent for the right candidate and salary is negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications.
