Learning Support Assistants –

Many of our schools are communicating a need for LSA’s and Teaching assistants to work 1:1 with pupils or small groups. These staff provide essential support to Teachers and pupils in equal measure and are an integral part of any classroom. These are for full-time or part-time roles, as everyone even with limited availability is needed!

You may already be in this role, just not in a school!

We are looking for individuals who can offer either part-time or full-time availability from present or from January. Teaching Personnel have unrivalled access to Hampshire and Dorset Primary schools which includes a wide selection of both high achieving & developing institutions.

Why 1:1?

These roles are often, but not exclusively to support SEN pupils in mainstream schools. Depending on the child’s needs, this role could see you simply assisting with Reading or Writing rather than exclusively behaviour management. These pupils are often crying out for a caring and patient person to offer them the individual attention and often quiet support that they require during the school day. In almost every case, you will come to understand the pupil deeply and the rationale behind their actions which can only strengthen your experience for when you are dealing with other & similar pupils.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Preferably have recent experience working with children.
  • Be patient & empathetic whilst able to push students to achieve their best.
  • Be an imaginative, problem solver and good communicator.
  • Be ready to make a profound difference in pupil’s education.
  • Be able to offer part-time of full-time availability from present or September

The benefits of the role include:

  • Excellent chance to build a relationship and career with schools.
  • Dedicated personal consultant.
  • Pension Scheme
  • Competitive pay
  • Fantastic experience for a graduate working towards their PGCE or an individual looking for experience working in a school.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
