Job Title: Key Worker and Learning Support Assistant

Location: East Midlands, Leicestershire, Hinckley

Job Type: Permanent, expected to work full-time hours

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £90 - £100 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Advocating, tracking and monitoring progress and attendance for aproximately 20-25 high needs learners.
  • Assist in the implementation of EHCPs (Educational Helath Care Plans)
  • Complete annual reviews of EHCP’s and update termly reports on the learner.
  • Time will be split between supporting in the classroom, and having time away from the classroom to complete admin, meet with learners, contact parents etc.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to create a positive learning environment
  • Support students with their academic and social development
  • Help students to develop independence and self-confidence
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.

Required Qualifications:

  • English GCSE
  • Maths GCSE

Education:

A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths

Experience:

Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting would be ideal. This role comes with additional responsibilities to that of a Teaching Assisant's. 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective problem resolution skills
  • Initiative to take proactive actions
  • Organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently
  • Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Additoanl relevant qualifications in teaching and learning- Level 2/Level 3/HTLA

Working Conditions:

This role involves working within a school environment, supporting students with varying needs. The work may require flexibility in hours and tasks to meet the needs of the students and the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
