About Us:

We are a reputable Special Educational Needs (SEN) School located in the heart of Hastings, committed to providing exceptional education and support to students with diverse needs. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team.

Role Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting and supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they have equal opportunities to access education and reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for students with individual education plans.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, adapting materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere, promoting positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to develop and implement tailored support strategies.
  • Monitor and record student progress, communicating effectively with the wider educational team.
  • Contribute to the overall development of the school's SEN provision.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient and empathetic approach with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training in SEN support.
  • Must have the right to work and live in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
