Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (Full-Time, Permanent)

Location: Fareham, Hampshire

Are you passionate about education and helping young people?

We are working with a dynamic secondary school in Fareham,  to find a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a full-time, permanent position starting as soon as possible.

About the Role: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional learning needs. You will work closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and teaching staff to provide personalised assistance to students both on a 1:1 and small group basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, reinforcing their learning and building essential skills.
  2. Classroom Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment, adapting resources and materials as necessary.
  3. Progress Monitoring: Track and report on student progress and development, maintaining clear communication with the SENCO and parents/guardians.
  4. Inclusion Promotion: Ensure equal access to education for all students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
  5. Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and encouragement, fostering a positive and nurturing atmosphere.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Prior experience in a similar role or educational setting is advantageous.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or special educational needs are desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
