Learning Support Assistant

Graduate Learning Support Assistants needed at Ofsted good, 11-16 mixed secondary school in the Cheadle area. This is a full-time post starting in January until the end of the academic year.

• £385 - £485 paid weekly.

In this role the successful applicant will be expected to alongside class teachers to help deliver sessions, support students with their classwork as well as aiding teachers manage behaviour. On occasion you will also work closely with young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), you will work in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis with these students to ensure they are receiving the correct level of support and are achieving their potential.

Additional responsibilities:

• Provide specialist advice and guidance (e.g. Art/Music) as required.
• Liaise with parents/carers, schools and establish constructive relationships and communicate with other relevant bodies to support achievement and progress of pupils (this includes attendance at parents meetings).
• Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate behaviour management strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities through observation and planned recording of achievement against predetermined learning objectives.
• Implement agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs, including assessment.
